The objective of this workshop is to discover Butoh and learn the basics with
Juju Alishina(Japanese choreographer with a 40-year international career) through a contemporary approach. This involves learning the basics, in parallel with Japanese bodywork: breathing, voice, rhythm, Japanese massage.
At the start of this course, we will begin with an exhilaration of all parts of the body, on the floor and standing. Then individual and group work to develop creativity and learn the staging of a choreography, in the studio and in the open air in Vichy.
As the course progresses, participants learn the techniques of Butoh and traditional Japanese dance techniques, with improvisation work.
At the end of the course, the participants will have acquired the basics and techniques of Butoh and will also be able to improvise and express their dances in their own way.
City of Vichy
Vichy is an original and dynamic city with many facets. Pastilles, checkered patterns, l'Oréal, sparkling water from Célestins - The famous spas, along with ten other European spas (Large European spa towns) are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. since July 24, 2021.
The city, located in the center of France, is quickly accessible from any direction: by train, Clermont-Ferrand is 30 minutes away, Lyon at 1h50, Paris at 2h50 and Marseille at 3h50.
The studio where we are going to work is located in the city center of Vichy.
Accommodation is not included in the price of the workshop, but it is very easy to find an affordable apartment, Airbnb or hotel in Vichy.
During the Easter holidays, you can practice Butoh in a beautiful city. Come with your friends or family.
