about our pedagogy

Juju Alishina has created a Nihon-Buyô method adapted to Western audiences, while respecting the heritage of tradition. Accessible to everyone, beginners and experienced, dancers and actors of all ages, his method offers not only a creative approach to dance movement, but also an introduction to the aesthetics and philosophy of Japanese dance. Juju Alishina thus demonstrates that it is possible to learn in a simple and intuitive way, not only the movements of the body, but also the spirit of the culture of Nihon (Japan).
Juju Alishina offers a very rich and varied repertoire of around fifty pieces, allowing you to explore many facets of Nihon-Buyô and to use all the accessories specific to this dance: fans, parasol, ténuguï, sticks ...
The teaching of Juju Alishina takes the form of regular group lessons: this creates a very stimulating group dynamic and promotes individual progress. The educational form of this method consists in practicing on an entire piece of traditional music, to be immersed in the universe of Nihon-Buyô. To convey the spirit of each piece, Juju Alishina translates the lyrics, evokes the context of the song, and filmed sequences facilitate the memorization of the choreographies.
Every student, even a beginner, can find a lot of satisfaction from the start of their learning. Beginners and experienced trainers together, the different techniques are acquired gradually over the course of regular training. After learning the basics, each student progresses at their own pace, in a conscious and harmonious practice of Nihon-Buyô.The Alishina method has already brought together a thousand students who have worked directly under the supervision of Juju Alishina.
